    Marking Profiles

There is very little information or images available regarding this tank. However, Das Werk has worked with Ammo by Mig and included five different marking profiles.

Four for vehicles of the German Army (Wehrmacht) and one for a captured vehicle in the service of the Soviet Red Army.

As usual, there are no limits to your imagination. The model is certainly also great for a ‘What if?’ 1946 scenery.

    History

German automotive manufacturer Borgward produced the Borgward IV during the Second World War. Its full designation was ‘Schwerer Ladungsträger Borgward B IV’ which translates to ‘heavy explosive carrier Borgward B IV’. Nazi Germany used three remotely operated demolition tanks – the Borgward was the heaviest. It was also the only one capable of releasing its explosives before detonating, thus not destroying the vehicle.

Near the end of the War, 56 copies of the Borgward IV were converted and revised. The result were tank destroyers with the name Wanze (bug). The Wanze was equipped with with six RPzB 54/1 anti-tank rockets. These rockets were also known as the Panzerschreck which translates to ‘Tank Fright’.

It was a weapon of the Endkampf, especially The Battle for Berlin in 1945.

This Wanze model kit is based on a vehicle of the type B.
